About Us
The Shooting Star Fund is a new community-built fund that provides meaningful gifts and experiences to children that have been struck by tragedy in the Mount Washington Valley.
Every gift is thoughtfully chosen with each child’s interests in mind. They are meant to bring joy and show these special children that the entire valley community cares and supports them.
Since our first gift in December of 2008, the Shooting Star Fund has granted 39 wishes!

Our mission is to improve the lives and lift the spirit of children who are facing serious physical or emotional hardship in order to restore their sense of well-being and trust in a caring community.
The Shooting Star Fund benefits children in the Mount Washington Valley by providing financial support and assistance in granting children wishes and providing for their comfort and enjoyment on an individual, child-per-child basis.

Eligible Children
Elementary, middle and high school children/youth (grades K-12) who are referred by their guidance counselor, nurse or case worker and are residents of the Mount Washington Valley region: Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Center Conway, North Conway, Eaton, Hart's Location, Jackson, Freedom, Madison, and Tamworth in New Hampshire, and Brownfield, Denmark, Fryeburg, Lovell, Stowe, and Sweden in Maine.
